Glasgow Amateur Flute Ensemble win the Annual SAFA contest again. GAFE topped in 3 categories: Best Hymn, Best Test Piece, Best Solo. The contest was held  on 12 Nov 2016  at Stonehouse, Scotland.

Merry Wives of Windsor played by GAFE on 12 Nov 2016 won the Best Test Piece Prize in the Annual Scottish Flute Association Contest held at Stonehouse, Scotland on 12.11.2016

#SAT. 29TH October 2016 -The Ensemble held their annual residential weekend workshop in New   Lanark World Heritage Centre, hotel. Rehearsals were held throughout Saturday and Sunday and a small impromptu concert of  a popular programme of music was given on Saturday night for family members and hotel guests.

Pieces played were Gibraltar a march, All in the April Evening, Pie in the Face Polka, Band  Of Brothers soloist Andrew Douglas, a highlight was our youngest member Isla Gambles aged 7 playing her solo item was The Gael.

Glasgow Amateurs Flute Ensemble’s winning performance of Myfanwy and Haydn: Symphony no 100 in G Major at the 2014 Scottish Amateur Flute Association Championship Contest. The contest was held on 22nd November in Carluke. Conductor: Andrew Douglas.
